The Great Plains region is the largest region of Texas. It's natural landforms mesmerize visitors from around the country. The beauty of the south is clearly displayed in this region.

The Great Plains region is the largest region of Texas. It's natural landforms mesmerize visitors from around the country. The beauty of the south is clearly displayed in this region.
There are many large cities in this west Texas region. They are responsible for much of the land's infrastructure. Some of the major cities include Del Rio, Lubbock, Odessa, Midland, Amarillo, and Kerrville. Their economy based on geography includes cotton farming, oil production, ranching, and raising angora goats. The rivers that run through the Great Plains are the Canadian and Red rivers.

In the Great Plains the climate is dry and arid. It is cooler in the summers and winters, than it is in the spring and fall. Some major landforms in the Great Plains are the High Plains, Edwards Plateau, Llano Basin, and the Balcones Escarpment. There are also many natural landforms such as Palo Duro Canyon, and Caprock Canyon.

There are may tourist attractions, including Lake Buchanan, Ft. Worth Stockyards, Caprock Canyon, and Palo Duro Canyon. One human adaptations that has been placed in the Great Plains is Pedernales falls. The elevation of the Great Plains is higher the East Texas. Much of the Great Plains is covered in hardwood trees. There is a large supply of underground water souces.
